Gagan is a visionary entrepreneur, investor, and mentor dedicated to driving innovation in technology, education, and startups. As the founder of the STEM Education Trust, he champions STEM initiatives across India, mentoring and leading Team India at the annual FIRST Global Challenge to inspire the next generation of innovators.

A General Partner at India Quotient, Gagan is a well-respected figure in the Indian startup ecosystem - an accomplished entrepreneur, active angel investor, and a trusted founder’s ally. He thrives on exploring technology disruptions and helping startups scale. Previously, he founded ThinkLABS, one of India’s most groundbreaking ed-tech companies, which he successfully exited in 2016. His leadership fostered a high-energy, innovation-driven culture, resulting in IP-led products that customers loved. His impact has earned him recognition among the Top 25 Entrepreneurs in Asia by Businessweek and the 35 Young Achievers by India Today. An avid investor, Gagan has backed over two dozen startups, including Housing.com, Fynd, Zorooms, Chaayos, Drivezy, Tork Motors, and Generico, with five successful exits. An IIT Bombay graduate, he is passionate about consumer hardware, technology, and learning. He envisions a startup ecosystem that is more frugal, efficient, and sane.

Fahad Azad – Technical Mentor, STEM Innovator & Hard-Tech Leader

Fahad Azad, the Technical Mentor of the FGC India team, has been a driving force behind its success since 2017. With over 15 years of experience in STEM education, he has impacted more than 20,000 students across 200 schools and universities through hands-on workshops and mentorship.

Beyond education, Fahad has led cross-functional teams in a hard-tech startup for over a decade, playing a pivotal role in raising over $10 million for startups in Norway, Singapore, and India. He has successfully launched products in the autonomous mobility and material handling industries, opening new markets and driving revenue growth.

A pioneer in robotics and innovation, Fahad is the founder of Robowars, Full-Throttle, and Drone Race - a prestigious tech competition hosted at IIT Bombay’s Techfest. His contributions have earned him recognition as an MIT TR35 Innovator and an Ignite Fellow from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Passionate about STEM advocacy, Fahad actively volunteers to mentor high school students for the FIRST Global Challenge, guiding Team India in the Robotics Olympics alongside competitors from 196 countries. He also serves as a judge for Robowars at IIT Bombay Techfest, where over 200 teams compete annually.

With a deep commitment to technology, education, and innovation, Fahad continues to shape the future of robotics and inspire young minds worldwide.

Sumesh Jaiswal – Technical Mentor & Robotics Expert

Sumesh is the driving force behind the team’s technical excellence, bringing over a decade of experience in FIRST Robotics since 2012. A graduate of IIT Kanpur, he blends deep technical expertise with a passion for mentorship, guiding the team to push the boundaries of innovation and problem-solving.

As a Software Architect and Technical Director at Symantec, Sumesh applies his industry-leading knowledge to equip the team with cutting-edge skills and strategic thinking. His mentorship not only sharpens their technical abilities but also instills a culture of perseverance, creativity, and teamwork—key ingredients for success on the global stage.

Saieesh Gandhi - STEM Advocate

Saieesh Gandhi is a passionate advocate for STEM education, dedicated to empowering students through hands-on learning. As a mentor for WRO, FLL, and FTC robotics teams in Goa, he has played a crucial role in shaping young minds and fostering a culture of innovation. His involvement in the Coding and Robotics Education in Schools (CARES) initiative has helped integrate robotics and coding into school curriculums, ensuring that students gain critical problem-solving and technical skills from an early age. Currently, as the Nodal Officer at Vidhya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) Goa, he is spearheading data-driven decision-making in education, enhancing learning outcomes through analytics and technology.

With a career spanning over two decades, Saieesh’s expertise extends beyond education into e-governance, IT initiatives, and project management. He has successfully led the design and implementation of the ‘e-Krishi’ project in Goa’s agriculture sector and managed operations for prestigious film festivals like IFFI and the Abu Dhabi Film Festival. His diverse experiences, coupled with his deep commitment to education, have made him a driving force in bringing technology-driven learning to students, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future.

Prity Patel - Team Manager & STEM Education Advocate

A passionate robotics and STEM education advocate, Prity has been deeply involved in the field for over a decade. Introduced to robotics 10 years ago, they quickly fell in love with the science behind it and dedicated themselves to spreading STEM education.

With a mission to make robotics accessible to students, Prity pioneered efforts to integrate robotics into school curriculums and establish robotic labs on campuses. Her work soon expanded to collaborating with school heads, trustees, and educators to design schools centered around STEM education principles.

Her journey led them to FIRST Global, where she played a key role in setting up FIRST Global India and selecting Team India to compete on the world stage. She has been instrumental in guiding the team’s participation in the FIRST Global Challenge—representing India in the USA (2017), Mexico (2018), and Dubai (2019).

Committed to empowering young minds through STEM, Prity continues to shape the future of education and innovation in India.
